Phenomenon 1: Mechanical seal leaks

Leakage of mechanical seals is a relatively common failure phenomenon. There are many reasons for water leakage, such as dry grinding due to lack of water, and large sediment content in the pumping medium will cause seal wear and leakage. It is worth mentioning here that the sealing method of the water pump is roughly divided into two types, one is packing type and the other is mechanical type.

The packing type is mostly used for transport pumps with large amounts of cold water and sediment. It is normal for this sealing method to have slight water leakage during use, so don’t worry about it too much. What’s more, this kind of sealing method needs to be pressed into a new disk every once in a while. Root, otherwise the water leakage will become more and more serious.

The mechanical type is the commonly used sealing method for water pumps. Compared with the packing type, the mechanical seal has the advantages of high sealing degree, low friction, and long service life, and is suitable for various occasions. The disadvantage is that the price is slightly more expensive, and installation and maintenance require certain skills and so on.

Reasons for water leakage due to damage to the mechanical seal:

1. Improper installation, mechanical seal wear;

2. There is no water in the water inlet, and the water pump runs dry, causing the machine seal to be damaged by dry grinding;

3. The water pump does not run for a long time, without maintenance during the period, and the pump is directly started without checking before using the pump.

If the water leakage occurs due to the damage of the mechanical seal, it is necessary to stop the machine in time, start the spare pump, and contact the manufacturer for maintenance. It cannot continue to run in the case of water leakage.

Phenomenon 2: abnormal sound of water pump

The reasons for the abnormal sound of the water pump are:

1. The water pump bearings are seriously worn;

2. The impeller rubs against the pump casing;

3. The shaft concentricity is reduced and the operation is unbalanced;

4. The windshield is deformed, and the wind blades collide with the windshield;

The sounds of different faults are not the same, some are the squealing sound, and some are the squeaking sound. If the water pump makes abnormal noises, it should be stopped for inspection. After disassembling the machine, in addition to repairing the faulty part, other parts also need to be inspected and maintained. , such as bearing lubrication and maintenance.

Phenomenon 3: The motor temperature is too high

The reasons for the high temperature of the motor are:

1. The bearing of the water pump is damaged, which increases friction. If the bearing is completely stuck, it will cause excessive current to burn out the motor;

2. The water pump is in the starting state for a long time and cannot enter the normal operation, causing the current to be too large. If there is over-current protection, the over-current protection device should operate;

3. The pump flow and lift parameters are too large;

4. The water pump is installed outdoors and exposed to the sun;

1. Phenomenon 4: Insufficient flow pressure

There are the following common problems when the flow pressure becomes smaller:

1. The water pump reverses. This situation usually occurs when a new pump is tested for water, but it is only necessary to debug two phases of the motor terminal terminals.

2. The water pump is not exhausted. Before the first use of the new pump and the first water test after maintenance, it is necessary to exhaust the air. If there is no exhaust, there will be air in the pump body, which will affect the working efficiency of the pump.

3. Leakage occurs on the pump body or pipeline.

4. The impeller is severely worn and cracked and worn.
